20th JANUARY
Towed in the fishing vessel 'Bellatrix' after she sustained propeller damage.
Location:- Kylerhea. Two aboard.
9th APRIL
Fishing vessel “Sea Reaper” on fire.
Removed crewman and took him to hospital.
Vessel eventually towed back in after the fire was brought under control.
Location:- Scalpay.
20th APRIL
Sailing dinghy capsized. 3 of a crew taken to Plockton suffering from cold.
Dinghy then towed to Plockton.
Location:- Plockton.
16th MAY
Sailing vessel lost steering. The vessel “Baa-Bubh” was towed back to Kyle.
Location:- 3 miles north of the Skye Bridge. 3 aboard.
19th MAY
Abandoned dinghy. The dinghy was found floating north of Kylerhea and
Was towed back to Kyle. Location:- Kylerhea.
30th JULY
The yacht 'Glory' had a loss of power and was towed to Kyle.
One elderly gent aboard.
Location:- Kylerhea.
25th AUGUST
The yacht “Bosham Surprise” broke its mooring. Put back on .
Location:- Loch Duich.
6th SEPTEMBER
The fishing vessel “Cetus” suffered engine failure and was towed back to Kyle.
Location:- Crowlin Islands.

Canoe located ,search of shore carried out. Canoe returned to kyle Pontoons.
Boat returned to Station.

21stAPRIL
Report of Fishing vessel Providence 2 having steering failure and in danger of drifting on to rocks.
Location:-Approaching Kyle Harbour.
Kyle lifeboat launched and assisted in passing rope to F.V.Madelia to tow boat away from rocks.
Stood by as Providence 2 was towed to Kyle Harbour.
Boat returned to Station.

Report of Dive Boat Sarah having run aground with 2 Persons on Board..
Location:-South of Skye Bridge.
Kyle Lifeboat launched .Unable to pull vessel off , made sure crew were safe and secured boat with list to shore side.
Will return at high tide 1300hrs and attempt to pull boat to safety.
Boat returned to Station.
1300hrs LifeBoat returns to help vessel and with the help of landing craft Snizort Maid & Eilean a mhail pulled
MV Sarah to safety and escorted her to Kyle Harbour.
Boat returned to Station.

Kyle Lifeboat launched and escorted yacht Margaritt to Kyleakin Harbour put a rope aboard and maneuvered along side pontoons.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of Oil Tanker having hit rocks at The Black Islands of Kyle.
Location:-South of the Skye Bridge
Kyle Lifeboat launched. L
ocated Oil Tanker Blackfriars aground on the Black Islands. Portree Lifeboat gave assistance
and tried to pull Tanker clear of Rocks to no avail.
At 3a.m.Kyle Lifeboat removed 5 Crew to safety of shore.
9a.m. Coastguard Tug Anglian Prince towed Tanker to safety.
Kyle Lifeboat stood down at 10.30a.m..
Malliag Lifeboat stood by to check for damage and oil pollution.

Location:-Dornie area
Kyle Lifeboat launched and started search in the Bundaloch area of Dornie.
Lifeboat informed by Police that casualty had been found safe and well.
Kyle Lifeboat returned to Station.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of Dive Boat broken down with 3 onboard and 2 divers in the water.
Location:-Loch na Beiste area.
Kyle Lifeboat launched and located Rib with engine trouble, recovered divers and towed back to Kyle harbour.
Kyle Lifeboat returned to station.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of Rubber Dinghy adrift.
Location:-Plock area of Kyle .
Kyle Lifeboat launched and after search located dinghy with nobody onboard .
Towed dinghy back to Kyle.

14th April
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of ferry having run aground.
Location:-Kylerae
Kyle Lifeboat launched , found the Glenelg Ferry aground. Fishing Boat Paulona had a line onboard and managed to
Tow Ferry Boat to safety.
Kyle Lifeboat stood by as crew checked for damage.No damage was found and ferry resumed service.
Kyle Lifeboat returned to station.

17th April
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of Yacht in difficulty
Location:-Isleornsay Bay
Kyle Lifeboat launched and after search located yacht .
It was discovered that the yacht had been dragging its ancher and due to inexperience of crew it was decided to have the boat escorted back to armadale harbour by Mallaig Lifeboat.
Kyle Lifeboat returned to Station.

06/2006
22th April
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to Report of Yacht missing
Location:-Broadford Area
Kyle Lifeboat launched and after search located yacht in Broadford bay Area .
Yacht Kimera had lost Radio Communication and was not responding to several radio calls from various vessels.
The skipper of the yacht refused any advice from the coxswain of the Lifeboat and Coastguard.
Kyle Lifeboat escorted the yacht back to the calmer waters of the Kyle of Lochalsh.
When the Coxswain was happy the yacht was now in safer waters . Kyle Lifeboat returned to Station.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of ferry adrift.
Location:-Kylerae
Kyle Lifeboat launched and after search located Glenelg Ferry with steering problems.
The lifeboat escorted the ferry back to its mooring.
Kyle Lifeboat
then returned to Station

03rd June
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to assist Portree & Stornoway Life Boats.
Location:-Staffin Bay
Kyle Lifeboat launched and made passage to Staffin Bay where it transported Coastguard personnel to Eilean Trodday to search for missing fishermen from fishing vessel Brothers .
Lifeboat then carried out search of shoreline around island and searched shore line from Staffin Bay to Portree.
Stornoway Coastguard called off search for the night .
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station .

21st June
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to assist Police.
Location:-Skye Bridge
Kyle Lifeboat launched and made passage to Skye Bridge to assist Police with a threatened suicide.
Lifeboat stood by but was later stood down by Stornoway Coastguard.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station .

Kyle Lifeboat launched and located cruiser with engine trouble .
Towed boat with one person onboard back to Broadford pier .

Kyle Lifeboat launched and located yacht Calliope of Menai aground on a rock in front the Lochalsh Hotel.

eboat towed the yacht to safety and escorted it back to Kyle Pontoons .
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station .

Kyle Lifeboat launched and proceeded to Loch Long to find that 2 casualties had been recovered by local boat .
H.M.O.checked that they were all right.

2nd August
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of overdue boat with 2 persons on board.
Location:-Plockton area
Kyle Lifeboat launched and proceeded to Plockton to look for a dinghy overdue from a yacht moored in Plockton Bay.
Lifeboat
were informed that the two persons had drifted ashore and had made there way back to Plockton.
The Lifeboat then took them on board and returned them to the yacht.
Kyle Lifeboat returned to Station.

6th August
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of a Jet Ski overturned with 2 people in the water .
Location:-Balmacara Bay
Kyle Lifeboat launched and proceeded to Balmacara bay where they located the 2 jet skiers .
They rescued them from the water and took them to a waiting ambulance .
The jet ski was then recovered .
Kyle Lifeboat returned to Station

Location:-LochDuich
Kyle Lifeboat launched and proceeded to LochDuich and found the boat with nobody onboard.
After making enquiries it was determined that the boat floated off on a very high tide.
Boat was made safe .
Kyle Lifeboat returned to Station .

Call by Storntwo of the Portree crew oway Coastguard to report of a yacht adrift with 5 people onboard.
Location:-Red Rocks Area
Kyle Lifeboat launched and proceeded to the red rocks area and found the yacht becalmed .
As the yacht had no engine they attached a line and towed it back to Broadford.
Kyle Lifeboat returned to Station .

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of a boat taking in water .
Location:-Breckish
Kyle Lifeboat launched and proceeded to Breckish and found vessel Summer Rose having just been launched from a local Boatyard was taking on water.
Kyle Lifeboat crew assisted the crew of the boat to stem the flow of water.
On arrival of the Portree Lifeboat the Kyle crew transferred a pump and two of the Portree crew to the vessel to pump her out.
Once pumping was completed Kyle Lifeboat helped secure the vessel alongside the Boatyard cradle.
Kyle Lifebot then returned to Station .

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of a Sick Person
Location:-Scalpay
Kyle Lifeboat Launched and proceeded to the Island of Scalpay.
On arrival One crewman was sent to access the situation and found a shooting party with one male suffering from Joint pains nausea and fainting.
The Lifeboat crew then removed the casualty by stretcher to the Lifeboat then administered oxygen and transported him to Shore to be picked up by ambulance and taken to Broadford Hospital.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station .

Location:-Scalpay Area
Kyle Lifeboat Launched and proceeded to search around the Pabay , Scalpay Area.
After an extensive search nothing was found and Kyle Lifeboat returned to Station .

Kyle Lifeboat Launched and proceeded to search area to assist Portree Lifeboat in search for Fish Farm Cages.
After an extensive search nothing was found and Kyle Lifeboat returned to Station

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to Report of a Rib broken down with 1 person onboard
Location:-West of Paday

Kyle Lifeboat Launched and proceeded to Pabay located Rib attached a tow line and towed Rib back to Kyleakin Harbour.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to Report of a boat adrift.
Location:-
Kyleakin Area.
Kyle Lifeboat Launched and found a yacht tender had drifted into main shipping lane .Tender was recovered and returned to yacht.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station

14thJune
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to Report of a fishing boat on fire.
Location:-
2 miles South of Applecross.
Kyle Lifeboat Launched
but while making passage to incident was informed that the incident was being delt with by another vessel.
When Kyle Lifeboat arrived on scene the fire had been extinguished and the vessel was safely along side at Camusterrach Pier.
On checking that their had been no casualties.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to Report of a Dive Rib broken down with 6 divers in the water.
Location:
-The Port Napier
Kyle Lifeboat launched and made way to The Port Napier, located the Dive Boat and recovered all 6 Divers then towed the boat back
to Kyleakin
Pier.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station .

23rd July
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to assist police in search for missing person.
Location:
-Murchisons Monument Area
Kyle Lifeboat launched .
On way to area of search the Lifeboat received a report from local creel boat of person in the water.
Kyle lifeboat recovered person and returned to Kyle Pier.

Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to Canoists in difficulty.
Location:
-Lochcarron
Kyle Lifeboat launched .
On way to area of search the Lifeboat received a report from Stornoway Coastguard that the incident had been delt with.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station.

012th September
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to assist a yacht that had been grounded.
Location:
-Crowlin Island
Kyle Lifeboat launched and proceeded to Crowlin Island to find the yacht almost high and dry near the South entrance to the anchorage.
With the tide falling quickly the Lifeboat Crew packed some fenders against the hull and made sure she settled safely.
As the yacht and Crew were in no immediate danger the Lifeboat returned to station and agreed to return at high tide.

12th September
Kyle Lifeboat launched and
returned to assist yacht that had been grounded at Crowlin Island.
Kyle Lifeboat arrived on scene just before the yacht started to refloat.
As the Lifeboat towed the yacht into clear water it was soon discovered that the yacht had engine problems, a tow was then commenced and the yacht was towed safely to the pontoons in Kyleakin Harbour.
Once safely alongside Kyle Lifeboat returned to Station.


10/2007
13th September
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to assist in search for missing hill walker.
Location:
-Sandaig Area
Kyle Lifeboat launched .
Lifeboat instructed to search the Sandaig to Glenelg coast line.
After 3 hours of searching the Lifeboat received a message informing them that the cassualty had been found by the Coastguard
Helicopter and was alive and well.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of a vehicle in the water with 2 occupants.

Kyle Lifeboat launched .
On passage to incident Stornoway Coastguard informed the Lifeboat that 2 persons had been recovered from the water and
they could return to Station..
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to assist police.
Location:-North of Skye Bridge

Message from Stornoway Coastguard to standbye in station.
Further message from Stornoway Coastguard to stand down as our services were no longer required.

Crew went off duty.

13/2007
29th December
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of canoeist in the water and in difficulty.
Location:-
Ardneiscin Area.
Kyle Lifeboat launched and made way to search area.
On arrival it was discovered that the casualty had been rescued from the water by a passing fishing boat.
The casualty was transferred from the boat to the Lifeboat and taken to shore to be assessed by a local doctor and ambulance crew.
The Coastguard Helicopter arrived on scene but its services were not required.
The casualty was taken to a local house and given treatment ,once the casualty was found to be in a stable condition he was left in the care of the ambulance crew.
Kyle Lifeboat returned to station.

31st December
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of Red flares .
Location:-
Glenelg Area.
Kyle Lifeboat launched and made way to search area.
On arrival and after an extensive search it was discovered that a family had been sending up wish balloons and they were mistaken for red flares.
The crew of the Lifeboat wished them a Happy New Year and then returned to Station.

Kyle Lifeboat H.M.A. was requested to check on condition of well known local man who had not been seen for some time.

Loch na beastie
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made way to Loch na beastie with our H.M.O. on board and contacted the gentleman who had
not being feeling to well , our H.M.O.managed to persuade him to visit the local surgery.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to station.

31stJanuary
Kyle Lifeboat was Launched to follow up on a previous incident regarding a local man who required a visit to the local surgery.
The Lifeboat quickly transported the patent to the station and our H.M.O.took him to the Doctor.On completion of his visit
the patient was transported back to his remote dwelling.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to station.

31st March
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of a boat sinking with two crew in the water.
Location:-East of the Crowlin Islands
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made its way to the scene of the incident ,Stornoway Coastguard contacted the Lifeboat to inform them that
the two casualties had been rescued from the water by another fishing boat and were on their way to Kyleakin where the Lifeboat Station H.M.O.
and an ambulance was waiting for them.
Kyle Lifeboat then continued to the incident to find an upturned fishing boat.Portree Lifeboat then arrived on scene and started to tow the upturned vessel,once they got into shallow water on Crowlin Kyle Lifeboat took up the tow and beached the stricken vessel on the shore and made it safe.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to station

26th April
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of a boat broken down with 2 crew onboard.
Location:-Broadford Bay.
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made its way to the scene of the incident.
It was discovered that the ship Salmoor had sent a boat ashore to pick up supplies and on their return the engine broke down.
The Salmoor then sent out its own rescue boat to recover the stricken vessel.
On getting confirmation of this
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to station

19th May
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of an injured crewman on board the fishing vessel" Danny J "
Location:-South of the Crowlin Islands
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made good progress and was on the scene in 12mins.to discover that the injured had been burnt by steam from an over heated engine.
The Crewman was taken to Broadford Hospital by the lifeboat while the stricken boat was taken under tow by another fishing boat
.
On
discharging the crewman at broadford the lifeboat returned to the vessel and took over the tow and returned the vessel to its home port of Kyleakin.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to station

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of 2 Divers reported missing
Location:-Torridon Narrows
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made its way to the search area.After arriving on scene Kyle Lifeboat was assisted by the Stornoway Coastguard Helicopter. After a short search the Helicopter located the missing divers who had drifted on to Shieldig Island. Kyle Lifeboat made its way to their location and assisted them onto the diving tender.Both divers were found to be well and declined any further assistance
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to station

17th June
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of unconscious fisherman aboard his boat.
Location:-20 miles North of Lifeboat Station
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made its way to the Fishing Boat Bellatrix which had been making its way to the south to meet it.
Once on board an examination of the casualty was carried out and it was decided to put a Lifeboat crew member on board the Fishing boat to bring it back to Kyle .
On arrival at Kyle they were instructed to berth the vessel at the Pontoons in Kyleakin where Police were waiting to secure the vessel.
Kyle Lifeboat was then released and returned to Station

7th August
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of a boat broken down with 2 persons onboard
Location:-North of the Skye Bridge
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and quickly located a small boat with 2 persons onboard which had suffered engine failure.
Kyle Lifeboat then towed the stricken craft back to Kyleakin pontoons.
Once the two crew were safely ashore Kyle Lifeboat returned to Station.



09/2008
11th August
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of a broken down pleasure craft.
Location:-South of the Crowlin Islands
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made good speed to the Crowlins to find a pleasure boat broken down with fuel problems.
It was decided to tow the stricken vessel back to its home port of Kishorn.
Once on its Trailer and all crew safely ashore Kyle Lifeboat returned to Station.

19thOctober
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of Pontoons in danger of breaking loose with 22 yachts alongside.
Location:- Kyleakin Harbour
Kyle Lifeboat launch was delayed waiting for permission from Stornoway Coastguard to launch in Gale Force 8 conditions.
Permission was granted and Kyle Lifeboat launched and gave assistance to the Police The Harbour Authority and Coastguard's to
secure a mooring line to the Pontoons which was dragging its anchors,Portree Lifeboat was also in attendance and towed the Pontoons back to their original position.
Once the Pontoons were secure
Kyle Lifeboat returned to Station.

11/2008
11thDecember
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to a report from a member of the public of torchlight spotted on a remote reef.
Location:-North of The Skye Bridge
Kyle Lifeboat launched and made its way to search the rocks North of the Skye Bridge to find a gentleman collecting welks using a head torch at 22.45hrs.
Once it was made quite clear that the Lifeboat was not wanted the Lifeboat returned to station.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to a report from a Fishing Boat of a person trying to attract their attention .
Location:-The Crowlin Islands
Kyle Lifeboat launched and made its way to search around the Crowlin Islands. After an extensive search nothing was found and
Kyle Lifeboat returned to station.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to a report of a missing person .
Location:-Plockton Area .
Kyle Lifeboat launched and made its way to Plockton and began a search of the coast around Plockton,after searching for 2 hours they were told to return to base as the missing person had been located.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to a report of a Boat with engine problems
Location:-North of the Skye Bridge.
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made contact with the broken down boat to be told that they had a faulty fuel pump..Kyle Lifeboat took the boat under tow to the safety of Kyle Harbour.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Stati
Lochcarron Areon.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to a report of an upturned Canoe
Location:-Lochcarron Area
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and whilst on passage to Lochcarron were informed by Stornoway Coastguard that the occupant of the Canoe had been rescued by a passing yacht.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of a missing person.
Location:-Erbusaig Area
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and began a search in the Erbusaig area.After searching the area for 2 hours the Lifeboat was asked to return to Kyle Station .

06/2009
3rd June
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to a report trom a member of the public of a canoeist in trouble
Location:-Skye Bridge
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made passage to the canoeist who informed the crew that she was in no danger and did not require the services of the Lifeboat.
Kyle Lifeboat informed the Coastguard and returned to Station.

11th June
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to assist Mallaig Lifeboat
Location:-The Sound of Sleat
Kyle Lifeboat was requested to take over from Mallaig Lifeboat and escort a fishing vessel
back to Kyle.
Stornoway Coastguard contacted Kyle Lifeboat Station and stood the crew down.

 

08/2009
2nd July
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of a yacht on fire.
Location:-North of Skye Bridge
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made passage to the yacht with 2 persons on board and discovered that the fire had been caused by
water pump failure and was extinguished on arrival.The Lifeboat then took the yacht undet tow back to the safety of Kyleakin Pontoons.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station.

24th July
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report of a yacht with engine trouble.
Location:-Plockton Area
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made passage to Plockton to find the yacht Pennant with a broken down engine.The Lifeboat took the yacht under tow to a safe mooring in Plockton Harbour.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station.



10/2009

05th August
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report
of a multiple capsizes and casualties in the water .
Location:-Plockton
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made passage to the area of the incident to find 14 sailing dinghies capsized.
Having put a crew member on board a local cruise boat to co-ordinate the rescue the lifeboat searched the upturned boats for crew that maybe trapped.All casualties had been rescued by local boats and returned to Plockton, the Lifeboat then assisted to recover the upturned boats .
Kyle Lifeboat was assisted by Local boats,Fishing Boats,Portree Lifeboat and Stornoway Rescue 100 Helicopter.
A total of 38 persons were rescued with no Injuries.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station.



11/2009

12th August
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to a report
of missing walkers.
Location:-Kinloch Area.
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made way to Kinloch to find 2 hill walkers who had become lost in Kinloch Forest.
They came across a river and followed it to the sea,. phoned the coastguard as they were lost and attracted the LifeBoat by flashing a torch.
Kyle LifeBoat picked them up and returned them safely to a waiting coastguard team at Isle Ornsay Pier.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report
of a yacht aground.
Location:-Isle Ornsay
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made way to Isle Ornsay to find the yacht Niaomi which had suffered engine failure and was in danger of grounding.The Lifeboat attached a line and towed her into the safety of Isle Ornsay harbour .Once safely moored Kyle Lifeboat then returned to Station.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report
of a Fishing Boat broken down.
Location:-East of the Crowlin Islands
Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made way to an area east of the Crowlins to find a Fishing Boat with engine problems .A tow rope was quickly passed to the fishing boat and it was towed to the safety of Broadford Harbour.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to station.

08thSeptember
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report
of a yacht in danger of going aground
Location:-Plockton Bay

Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made way to Plockton to find a 40ft yacht dragging its mooring and in danger of going on the rocks.
Kyle Lifeboat took the yacht under tow and made it safe on another mooring.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to station.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report
of a missing 83year old gentelman.
Location:-Kinloch Area

Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made its way to the Kinloch area and started a search of the shoreline.
After searching for two and half hours Stornoway Coastguard called the sea search off for the night.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to station.

of a missing 83year old gentleman.
Location:-Kinloch Area

Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made its way to the Kinloch area to resume searching for missing person , several locations were checked out but nothing found.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to station.

Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report
of a missing 83year old gentleman.
Location:-Kinloch Area

Kyle Lifeboat was launched at the request of the Police to do another shore search due the very low tide , after an extensive search nothing was found.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to station.

 

 

18/2009
30th December
Call by Stornoway Coastguard to report
of a canoeist in difficulty.
Location:-Strome Narrows.

Kyle Lifeboat was launched and made speed to the location of incident to find a canoeist clinging to the upturned hull of his craft. The casualty was taken onboard the lifeboat and wrapped in a survival blanket for the short journey to shore,he was then handed over to the care of his friends whilst they waited for an ambulance which was only minutes away.
Kyle Lifeboat then returned to station.
